REFERENCE MAP  & TRAIL NOTES (Continued)

8. Brucknell Creek is home to native species such as platypus, eels, water rat and blackfish.

9. This is a regeneration area which in the past was used as farmland. You will notice the change in vegetation to mainly native grasses, bracken fern and sedges with a Blackwood over-story.

10. The Sanctuary annex is regenerating forest and open grassland which provides grazing for many kangaroos and wallabies. There are no defined walking tracks here- care should be taken when crossing the road.

11. The tall trees here are sometimes used by powerful owls as perches. It provides them with a good view of the surrounding area and any 'potential' meal. The powerful owl is a big bird and eats at least 4 Ringtail possums a week.

12. From here you can walk to the western boundary or continue back to the car-park and barbecue area.
