City of Warrnambool Eisteddfod 1999
Competition staged at the Warrnambool Performing Arts Centre.

In 1975 the Warrnambool Rotary Club held the first City of Warrnambool Eisteddfod as a special project. The event was organised by Bruce Rogers, Beryl Beardsley and Laurel Langdon and attracted 150 entries.

Cr. Bill O'Sullivan, then Mayor of Warrnambool, called a public meeting to discuss the establishment of an annual Eisteddfod for the City. Due to the support of the Warrnambool City Council and an army of volunteers, the Annual City of Warrnambool Eisteddfod is now a major drawcard to the city for musicians, dancers and drama students.

1999 President: Mr George Baudinette.

The entries for the 1999 Eisteddfod number over 8000.
