The Warrnambool GEM CLUB
aims to advance lapidary skills and the knowledge of gems & minerals.
Members collect gem rough & minerals; cut & polish collected materials

Club Rooms in the 'old pump-house' at the 'YMCA' stadium in Queens
Road, Warrnambool.
WORKSHOPS
Each Saturday afternoon (and on every 2nd Wednesday),
from 1-30pm, the Club has workshop sessions
where club members can form rough gem materials into gemstones.
The workshop has a number of diamond grinding wheels, sanding &
polishing units for producing cabachons & freeform gems; several diamond
saws and 2 faceting machines . These are available to all financial members
of the club.
BI-ANNUAL GEM SHOW
Every second summer, the club holds it's
Gem Show to display members work
and introduce the hobby to members
of the public. Some traders are present at the Show to enable club
members
and the public a chance to purchase gems, jewellery, machinery,
and
other lapidary items . The Clubs next Show will be held at the Archie
Graham
Centre, Timor St., Warrnambool, on the 25th, 26th and 27th of January,
2007. This show will celebrate the 40th 'Birthday' of the Warrnambool
Gem Club.
