The Warrnambool City Council and the Municipal Government of the City of Miura, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan entered a formal Sister-City relation-ship in 1992. This relationship has blossomed with mutual exchanges at a municipal, personal and educational level. As a major symbol of the Sister-City relationship, the Warrnambool City Council, with assistance and sup-port from the Municipal Government of the City of Miura, is developing the Warrnambool - Miura Sister-City Japanese GardenThe Garden is designed around traditional philosophies of Japanese Garden architecture, utilising Australian native plantsThe Garden is progressively to be developed as a major attraction within the city. It will be a place of enjoyment for future generations and will strengthen the bond between the City ofWarrnambool and the City of Miura and between Australia and Japan.The Warrnambool City Council is pleased to be involved in this project.
