Presidents Report
Warrnambool PC Users Inc. 2009-2010
I am pleased to report on the activities of your club over the last twelve months.
Before anything I must thank your committee for their input over the period. It has not been an onerous job for them in that we only meet monthly for about 2 hours, but htis has resulted in each month's program being developed after discussion, plus reviewing where we the group is going. Your committee over the last 12 months has consisted of myself and the following.
Gwyn Taylor
David Pearson
Ron Simmons
Graeme Mayne
Les Lockland
Alan Grigson
Sandra Pearce
Greg O'Flynn
Jack Levey

On behalf of all of you, I thank the committee for a job well done, and ask you all to acknowledge this in the usual way!
As you all know, the club laptop has a triple boot capability in that we can run vista, Xp or Windows 7 by restarting. Because of the time factor, consideration should be given by the new committee to purchasing another laptop, so we can "jump" from one to the other.
During the year the following items (among others) were presented. It is amazing how many diverse topics were covered. Keyboard use without a mouse, sketchup, Office conversion tool, open office, Powerpoint, Gmail, wordart, passwords, Windows 7, multi downloads, greeting cards, msconfig, twitter, clipart, screen capture, Office 2007, recycle bin, google streetview, links, website, cardmaking, taskbar, facebook, firefox downloads, wordart, windows security essentials, my dead computer, printscreen, clean up photos, and absolute installer.
This is by no means the complete list, so haven't we covered a wide variety of topics?
During the year Sandra Pearce completed a TAFE course on how to make a web page, and I think you will agree that the results with our new we3b site are great. Thank you Sandra, a great job.
Membership at this time is a healthy 41 paid members, which is comparable with last year. I believe that we have done well to maintain this level, and I thank you all for your supportover the last 12 months.
We continue to be in the happy position of not paying for the use of the Archie Graham facilities, because Sandra Pearce and myself give the time each week giving computer lessons. I believe that as long as a couple of our members continue to do this, that we will continue this happy arrangement.
The next 12 months will be interesting and I look forwrd to them with interest.
All the best to you all
David Stennett
